  • Quilting Grip Gloves

Hello Quilter! I was very happy to learn about the popularity of the products I developed for quilters, also in the United States, specifically quilting grip gloves. I'm a Brazilian quilter, passionate about the technique, and I confess that the intention in developing the glove was to solve a personal problem. I have psoriasis on my hands, a type of allergy that when I used conventional quilting gloves, the allergy got much worse. So I started to develop a glove that was very adherent to the fabric when sewing and quilting and was very open to ventilate my hand and not cause allergies. I started using the gloves, and I showed them in videos and in classes and my students loved them and wanted to have them too. So I made a small production of the gloves to serve my students, but the success continued and more quilters wanted the gloves. When I realized that the product suited all quilters, I documented it, registered the brand and started producing the gloves on a scale. I presented the gloves at a quilt show in Houston and the Janome managers loved the product and asked me to develop the product with my brand for the SEW Confort line, and again it was a great success. Today, American quilters can purchase them on Amazon, Etsy and in some Quilt Shops* in several American states. *If you have a quilt shop and are interested in reselling this product, please get in touch - studiomarciabaraldi@gmail.com

  • Quilter´s favorite Meander Ruler for Longarm Machines!

The Meander Quilting Ruler has now a version for longarm machines. Now, quilters worldwide who have Longarm Sewing Machines will enjoy the benefits of this incredible quilting tool to make the stipple design easily. More than 6 years ago, the Meander Ruler was developed by me to help my quilting students easily quilt the most desired design by quilters: The Meander or Stipple. This template was a great sales success during all these years due to its practicality and ease of use, being distributed in several countries under the original brand Marcia Baraldi! Cut in transparent blue acrylic, and trademark registered by Marcia Baraldi Brand, the ¼ inch thick Meander Ruler was developed for Longarm Sewing Machines In response to the request of many longarm quilters, I developed a model with the right thickness and size to be used in this type of Sewing Machine. To be used more easily, I suggest placing small pieces of Non-slip grip tape to avoid the ruler slipping onto the sandwich and an enormous dose of love for the project. Position the ruler in such a way that the path design follows in a horizontal direction. Support the ruler on the quilt and move the sandwich and the Ruler, when you reach the end, spin the ruler 180 degrees and keep following the path. • Angela Walters tries Marcia Baraldi Quilting Grip Gloves

Today Facebook has brought me a memory of this Day in 2017 when I met Angela Walters and she tried Marcia Baraldi Free-motion Quilting Grip Gloves. It was a very special moment in my life! Although I have already developed many quilting tools like the Meander Ruler to be used with a Ruler’s foot and other free-motion quilting tools, see her wearing my gloves was special. I still see Angela as a present influence for me. When I started quilting, she´d collaborated with the improvement of my quilting skills. Today I´m an awarded quilter and recognized quilting teacher in Brazil and around the world and I have been sharing my knowledge in the Houston International Quilt Festival in the past 3 years with several classes. The main products for quilting that I´ve developed are the Meander Ruler in  2016 and the Quilting Grip Gloves. Together, both are successful sales in America. Thank you Angela for this moment! Happy Quilting!

  • Quilting Grip Gloves for Free-motion quilting

When I started free-motion quilting some years ago I´ve tried different types of quilting gloves and I couldn´t find one that was at the same time comfortable, practical and did not let my hands sweat. So was then that I developed the Quilting Grip gloves! They are not like the typical gloves, that go over your entire hand, but they leave your fingers free so you can still handle needles, pins, and thread, so no more sweaty hands!  Also, it´s easy to put them on, and they´re adjustable to any hand size! One of the most important features of these gloves is the good grip on the palm of the hands. This grip makes the quilter use this area to quilt, avoiding using fingertips. It´s not common knowledge, but when using fingertips to quilt, the arms, wrist, and shoulder stay in a stressed position, causing back and neck pain, and can slowly develop carpal tunnel problems. So when using the gloves, the hands will be facing down, and the body can follow suit, keeping it nice and erect. These quilting grip gloves have become a success in my country and now they are crossing the ocean and helping many quilters around the world to simplify free-motion quilting abilities by creating smooth curves, even stitches, and avoiding health issues. • Ruler Foot for Quilting Rulers and Templates

Free-motion quilting with Rulers has become more and more popular as quilters started to discover these amazing tools for precise quilting! The Rulers differ from their sizes, shapes, and brands, giving the possibility to make a variety of designs and creations! Regardless of which one you choose, there is one detail you must be aware of before starting. Quilting Rulers for domestic machines require a special foot to use with it: the Ruler foot. Otherwise, it will be a tool with no use. Ruler foot is a type of darning foot developed to be used with rulers. They are rounded, measuring approximately 1/2 inch of diameter and made with resistant materials but not hard enough to damage the rulers or the machine for first-time users. Look below the difference between quilts made with Rulers and without Rulers: The Ruler foot Marcia Baraldi developed was created after several studies testing different types of material to create an excellent product. She then came with this Ruler foot made with a very resistant material that when used correctly, won´t break, but if some accident happens, causing it to crack or break, the machine won´t be damaged because the MB Ruler foot is not made of metal material. • Domestic Sewing Machine Couching Foot for Quilting or Sewing

The couching gives texture and dimension to the fabric and there are no limits to use it to make your project look great! Due to the thickness of couching threads, it requires a different foot to be used. I developed the Couching foot because I love this te way the ArtQuilt looks with yarns! • A Simple solution to keep Quilting Rulers and Templates under control

One of the trickiest things when working with Rulers and templates is to maintain them stable on the quilt sandwich when quilting. I have experienced it and I remembered when I first started using quilting rulers for domestic machines sometimes my stitches went out of the track. But I did not know one smart trick- to use a grip tape. After trying different types of Grips and Tapes, I found one it presented to be the best for me- the Non-slip Grip Tape. This tape is not sticky tape, so it won´t damage the fabric or the Ruler, it looks like a silicone tape and it´s clear, so you can see the marks on the ruler. Another important feature of this tape is that you only need to apply small pieces on different parts to the backs of Ruler providing a long-lasting grippy surface, which makes them economic as well. This simple solution has really upgraded my quilting ruler skills! Click here to get a Non-slip Grip Tape! #quiltingtemplates

  • Quilting Rulers and Templates

Quilting Templates for machine quilting help beginners and experienced quilters to free-motion quilting quickly and comfortably right on a domestic machine. Obtain wonderful quilted effects such as stipple or meander, and get pieces ready without marking complex designs or relying on coordination to make repetitive designs. Let the Quilting Rulers make the hard work for you! Make sure to use a Ruler Foot that fits on your sewing machine. Simply position the ruler on top of the quilt sandwich and the Ruler Foot goes inside the ruler path, then smoothly steer the ruler and sandwich together when quilting to make the designs. Another important thing is to add some small pieces of a Non-slip Grip Tape on the side that will be facing the fabric, to avoid the Ruler to slip on your sandwich as you steer them together against the Ruler foot.
